UK property values fell slightly in December
December Sees Dip in UK House Prices
In December, the average price of a home dropped by 0.6%, equating to a decrease of £1,789 from the previous month. The typical property now stands at £297,755, marking the lowest value recorded since June 2025. Year-on-year, price growth eased to 0.3%, down from 0.6% in November.
Although the housing market ended 2025 on a quieter note, overall activity throughout the year remained steady and comparable to levels seen before the pandemic.
Looking ahead to 2026, several factors are expected to lend some support to the market. The price decline in December was likely influenced by end-of-year uncertainty, but this effect is anticipated to diminish moving forward.
