a 46-year-old woman in Kursk lost 28 million rubles in a year-long cryptocurrency investment scam. When the victim's funds ran out, the scammer deleted all chat records and disappeared. The Russian police stated that they are currently investigating the scammer and his accomplices. Glassnode: Market expectations for Bitcoin volatility in the next quarter are relatively mild.
the glassnode report pointed out that Bitcoin implied volatility has fallen back to a low expected range, indicating that the market's expectation for significant fluctuations in the next quarter is relatively mild and will return to a low volatility state. This situation reflects limited short-term hedging demand and usually suggests that once market volatility reappears, prices will readjust more quickly as positions adjust according to new information. In addition, the profit-taking volume of long-term Bitcoin holders has cooled to levels typically observed during shallow bear phases. This situation is usually associated with high uncertainty and often occurs during mid-bull market stagnation periods or the early stages of a deeper bear market.

Democratic members of the Senate Banking Committee have called for a hearing before Thursday's deliberations on the crypto bill.
according to crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett, Democratic members of the Senate Banking Committee made a late-night call for a full hearing to be held before the bill markup scheduled for Thursday. Senators Chris Van Hollen, Tina Smith, and Jack Reed sent a letter to the Republican leadership of the Senate Banking Committee, criticizing that the bill text has not been released with only two days left before the markup (expected to be over 200 pages), and stated that such a timeline is insufficient to vote on "the most important bill the committee has considered this century." Note: All three senators mentioned above have voting records against cryptocurrency, and whether or not a hearing is held, they are expected to vote against it. Before the Christmas recess, Republican Senator John Kennedy co-signed a letter with Reed expressing hope for a hearing to better understand the related issues. However, he did not sign the latest letter, and it is currently unclear whether he still holds the same view.
