South Korean and US finance ministers to meet in Washington next week, possibly discussing currency swap
according to foreign media reports, as the issue of the implementation of the US investment plan with a total amount of $350 billion has reached a deadlock in the South Korea-US tariff negotiations, South Korea's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance, Joo Hyun-cheol, will visit the United States on the 15th to meet with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. According to South Korea's Ministry of Strategy and Finance and the department in charge of economic and trade affairs, Joo Hyun-cheol will attend the G20 finance ministers and central bank governors meeting, as well as the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in the United States on the 15th. It is expected that Joo Hyun-cheol will hold bilateral talks with Bessent at that time to exchange views on the financial affairs of the two countries. It is reported that the specific time and format of the bilateral finance ministers meeting have not yet been finalized.
