According to Odaily, the "on-chain detective" ZachXBT disclosed on the X platform that a Canadian cyber threat actor named Haby (Havard) conducted social engineering scams by impersonating customer service of a certain exchange, stealing over $2 million in crypto assets over the past year. The hacker squandered the stolen funds on rare social media usernames, nightclub spending, and gambling.

ZachXBT's investigation shows that Haby has recently been frequently purchasing expensive Telegram usernames and deleted his most recent account two days ago. Through open-source intelligence analysis of his social media story posts, investigators determined that Haby is located in Abbotsford, near Vancouver, Canada. ZachXBT stated that although Canadian law enforcement agencies may already be aware of Haby's existence, such cyber threat actors are rarely prosecuted in the region.
