Trust Wallet CEO: Over 2,630 claims received, verification process being accelerated and tools and procedures improved
Foresight News reported that Trust Wallet CEO Eowync.eth posted an update on the latest progress regarding the browser extension event handling: the forensic investigation is still ongoing, and Google has responded that it has upgraded its ticket. They hope to receive the Chrome Web Store review logs as soon as possible. In addition, the devices of remote employees are currently being shipped and will be sent to the security team for more detailed inspection.
The extension will now alert affected users when a compromised wallet is detected on their device, urging users to immediately migrate and abandon the old wallet to prevent further losses. Therefore, if users see this banner alert in the extension, they should take action immediately. If users do not see the banner alert, it means the device is normal and no action is required.
Trust Wallet’s top priority is to ensure that compensation is distributed to the correct individuals. Filtering out scammers and hackers while verifying ownership is very complex, so the time required to process requests is longer than affected users expect. They are currently improving tools and processes and developing new extension features to increase accuracy. Trust Wallet has received over 2,630 claims and reimbursement reports, more than ten times the usual ticket volume. The claim amounts range from $1.05 million to $3.5 million. Their customer support team is currently handling a much higher workload than usual, but they are doing their best to process claims as quickly as possible and are actively seeking more support staff.
