Trust Wallet browser extension security incident leads to user funds theft exceeding $6 million
PANews, December 26 – According to Trust Wallet’s official announcement and on-chain investigator ZachXBT, a security vulnerability has been found in version 2.68 of the Trust Wallet browser extension, resulting in the theft of funds from numerous user wallets over the past several hours. The official team advises affected users to disable version 2.68 and upgrade to 2.69; the mobile and other versions are not affected. The team is actively investigating and contacting victims to handle follow-up matters. Preliminary statistics indicate that the stolen amount exceeds $6 million, with hundreds of victims and multiple compromised EVM, Bitcoin, and Solana addresses already disclosed. Affected users can report through official support channels for assistance.
