x444 officially announces: As the first project on BNB Chain to natively implement the "402 Standard (Payment Required)" in a production environment, it has launched its self-developed x402 protocol to provide the AI agent economy with a machine-friendly payment infrastructure that is instant, gasless, wallet-free, and HTTP-first. The project team emphasizes the main point of this release: they are the first team on BNB Chain to truly run the 402 standard on-chain, enabling APIs and AI agents to reach on-chain verification and settlement directly via standard HTTP requests, building a new payment track for machine-to-machine (M2M) interactions.

For a long time, most stablecoins in the BNB ecosystem did not support EIP-3009 (a key standard for offline authorization and meta-transactions), making it impossible to achieve true gasless, wallet-free, and programmable settlements. x444 breaks the deadlock with a "universal wrapper": this is a lightweight abstraction layer that enables any token to have "EIP-3009-like" behavior without forking tokens or rewriting libraries; developers only need to point to the relevant contract in the x402 library to plug and play for x402 compatibility. At the core, Permit signature authorization is used, integrating authorization and clearing into an end-to-end gasless process, allowing machines, APIs, and on-chain applications to complete secure, verifiable settlements without native asset balances or wallet interactions. The first integrated stablecoin, USD1, is now live, and Aster $USDF will be supported next, providing developers and autonomous agents with a gasless testing ground during the competition phase to validate real-world micropayments and programmable settlements.
The differentiated value of x444 is reflected in three aspects:
- Edge zero-fee: Direct stablecoin payments, no need to hold on-chain native assets, improving capital efficiency and settlement certainty;
- HTTP-first, agent-native: Follows the x402 model, triggering payments via standard HTTP, naturally fitting API monetization and M2M workflows;
- No SDK lock-in: Verification and settlement are completed with simple HTTP calls, shortening integration paths and reducing development and operational complexity.
On the application side, x444+x402 makes "each API call is a settlement verified on-chain" a default capability, directly unlocking agent-to-agent payments, pay-per-call, and programmable micropayments. For developers, this means they can build measurable and settleable API economies without introducing wallet pop-ups or over-relying on frontend interactions; for autonomous agents and "vibe-coding" type bots, this is a machine-native settlement language, making payment part of the protocol layer rather than a friction point in the process. More importantly, instant settlement and zero-fee experience can significantly enhance the feasibility and commercial efficiency of high-frequency, low-value, automated services.
From an ecosystem perspective, x444 is the first to natively implement the 402 standard on BNB Chain, marking a paradigm shift in payment experience: from "user-driven wallet interactions" to "machine-driven seamless settlement." This not only fills a key payment foundation for the AI agent economy, but also provides a practical and scalable commercial path for the broader API economy and on-chain microservices. With the initial integration of USD1 and the planned rollout of Aster $USDF, the x402 compatibility landscape will further expand to multi-chain environments such as BNB, Base, and Polygon, providing developers and agent systems with consistent payment semantics and integration processes across ecosystems.
x444 is the first team in BNB Chain history to truly implement the 402 standard on-chain; the x402 protocol allows developers to complete on-chain verified, end-to-end gasless settlements using standard HTTP; the universal wrapper solves the compatibility pain points of non-EIP-3009 stablecoins; machine-native payments for API monetization and M2M workflows are now available.
