Reserve Bank of India launches digital currency retail sandbox
Jinse Finance reported that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday launched its retail sandbox project for central bank digital currency (CBDC), allowing fintech companies to develop and test related solutions within the existing pilot program. The news was announced by Suvendu Pati, Chief General Manager of the Reserve Bank of India. The central bank's first retail digital rupee (e-rupee) pilot project was launched on December 1, 2022.
