Expectations Rise for a Fed Rate Cut in September as Economists Predict One More Reduction
According to ChainCatcher, citing Jintou, a majority of economists surveyed by Reuters expect the Federal Reserve to implement its first rate cut of the year in September, with a possible second cut before the end of the year. The survey shows that out of 110 respondents, 67 (61%) anticipate the benchmark interest rate will be lowered by 25 basis points to a range of 4%-4.25%. More than 60% of respondents expect one or two rate cuts this year.
