Ethiopia Suspends Issuance of New Power Permits to Crypto Mining Companies
According to a report by Jinse Finance, as disclosed by Bitcoin.com News, Ethiopia has suspended the issuance of new electricity permits to crypto mining companies. Currently, 25 Bitcoin mining farms are in operation, with another 20 awaiting approval, and the power grid has reached its limit. Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) had previously sold "idle electricity" to miners in foreign currency, but experts warn that this could impact local residents' electricity needs.
