US Agriculture Secretary: Trump May Exempt Tariffs on Agricultural Products Difficult to Grow in the US
According to a report by Jinse Finance, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins stated to The Wall Street Journal that the Trump administration may consider granting tariff exemptions for goods that are difficult to produce domestically in the United States, such as cocoa beans or coffee. Currently, these products are subject to comprehensive tariffs, which has led Democrats to criticize Republicans for driving up costs. In an interview, Rollins said, "Everything is still under discussion at this stage. I believe that for certain products we cannot produce domestically, it is important to fully understand the situation and develop a comprehensive strategy that supports all of these goals—keeping grocery prices low for Americans, ensuring inflation is reduced as promised, and once again promoting our products globally."
