Bitcoin Price Today 20/05/2025: BTC Holds Above $104K After Strong Volatility

• Ethereum rises 5,5% and surpasses US$ 2.500

Bitcoin is currently trading at $104.745, up 2% in the last 24 hours. The cryptocurrency has been experiencing intense movements since the weekend, fluctuating in ranges of up to $5 in a matter of hours.

After falling below $102.000 on Thursday, BTC began a recovery sequence on Friday, surpassing $103.000. From there, it spent the weekend oscillating around that level until it started a strong rally on Sunday night, reaching $106.000.

Despite selling pressure that temporarily took it to $103.500, Bitcoin rose again near the $107.000 zone on Monday 19, a level not seen since January. The sequence, however, was marked by a new drop to $102.000, followed by a recovery to $106.600.

Among altcoins, Ethereum stood out with a 5,5% increase, surpassing US$ 2.500. XRP also held firm, trading at US$ 2,35 after defending an important technical support.

Other assets such as SOL, TRX, SUI, LINK, AVAX, SHIB, HBAR and TAO followed the positive movement, with gains reaching 7%.

The highlight of the day, however, was AAVE, which appreciated more than 20% and is now trading at around US$ 265, being the altcoin with the largest capitalization with the best percentage performance in the last few hours.

The total cryptocurrency market cap has increased by approximately $100 billion since yesterday, reaching $3,450 trillion. This movement follows the volatility of Bitcoin and the consistent performance of heavyweight altcoins in the market.
