3422 Dormant BTC Moved After 12 Years, Valued 7018 Times More Than in 2012
BlockBeats reports that on May 6, according to EmberCN monitoring, 3,422 BTC that had been dormant for 12 years were transferred to a new address in the past 3 hours, valued at $324 million.
Tracing back, these BTC were withdrawn from the BTC-e trading platform (one of the ancient trading platforms, now closed) in 2012, when the BTC price was only $13.5. At that time, the 3,422 bitcoins were worth $46,000, and they are now valued at $324 million, an increase of 7,018 times.
