U.S. Treasury Secretary: advises all countries to refrain from trade retaliation
U.S. TREASURY SECRETARY BESSENT: I would advise all countries not to take retaliatory action. We can see if there's going to be a different tariff floor (from the published numbers). Trump's mindset may be to let things stabilise for a while. I'm not involved in the negotiations and we'll see if there are any negotiations before 9 April (the date the reciprocal tariffs go into effect).
