Democratic Party member Elizabeth Warren demands federal agencies investigate the Meme coin launched by the Trump family
U.S. Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren has criticized Trump's meme coin and urged the U.S. Government Ethics Office and financial regulators to thoroughly investigate the ethical and regulatory details of the TRUMP token.
Warren, a senior Democrat on the Senate Banking Committee responsible for overseeing U.S. financial regulators, said that these assets, including First Lady Melania Trump's eponymous meme coin, pose potential conflicts of interest and highlight "the most destructive and unstable corners" in the cryptocurrency field.
In her letter, Warren concluded: "$TRUMP and $MELANIA pose serious risks to President Trump's ability to govern fairly as well as to investors in these currencies who may become victims of a carefully orchestrated plot by the Trump family."
