Governor of the South African Reserve Bank: If the United States starts hoarding Bitcoin, South Africa is unlikely to follow suit
The Governor of the South African Reserve Bank, Lesetja Kganyago, stated that if the United States begins to hoard Bitcoin, it is unlikely that South Africa will follow suit. He questioned the merits of this decision, stating that South Africa is more focused on the practicality of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC) and blockchain technology rather than using Bitcoin as a means of storing value.
