Reuters Survey: Most economists predict that the Bank of Japan will abandon another rate hike before the end of the year
A survey by Reuters shows that, despite nearly 90% of economists still expecting the Bank of Japan to raise interest rates before the end of March next year, a slight majority believe that the Bank will abandon another rate hike this year. The published survey results highlight the challenges faced by the Bank in advancing policy normalization. Currently, most central banks around the world tend to cut interest rates and there is uncertainty about monetary policy preferences from new political leadership.
