Taiko: Proposed BCR master protocol upgrade to version 1.7.0 on July 1
Taiko announced in a post on the X platform that it will upgrade the Taiko BCR mainnet protocol to version 1.7.0 on July 1. This version is compatible with the current Taiko-geth and client version ABI, but includes changes to the underlying protocol affecting block proposers and provers, with the main updates including: 1. Designated provers of a block must also be proposers; 2. Provers of a block are required to verify that the stateRoot of an existing conversion is zero. If so, the protocol will only compare the blockHash to determine if another conversion is disputed; 3. Reduce the validity and dispute guarantee of the Activity Guarantee and SGX Proof by 50%; 4. Gas Optimization; 5. Upgraded the Hekla test network protocol, which may cause some block proposer and prover transactions to fail, and recommend that all Hekla block proposers and provers update their transaction parameters as soon as possible.
