Livepeer will launch AI subnet and plans to launch mainnet in the third quarter
According to news on May 21, the video streaming platform Livepeer announced that it will launch the Livepeer AI subnet, a decentralized video processing network with AI computing capabilities. The subnet will be built on Livepeer’s decentralized video processing network architecture, providing a globally accessible open video infrastructure and incentivizing scalability through a blockchain-based token economy. The Livepeer AI subnet also allows Livepeer Orchestrator node operators to earn ETH and LPT revenue by deploying GPU resources for AI processing tasks. Livepeer’s AI subnet was launched in three phases. The first phase has been completed and is currently being optimized. Livepeer is expected to launch the mainnet in the third quarter of 2024.
