Ripple submits a motion to seal and amend parts of the SEC lawsuit documents
On May 14th, Ripple submitted a motion before the deadline on May 13th, requesting a narrow revision of briefs and certain evidence related to the relief motion. The company stated that its sealing request is reasonable and consistent with the sealing requests approved by the court at the summary judgment stage of litigation. Before submitting this motion on Monday, Ripple's lawyers consulted with U.S. financial regulators. The U.S. SEC indicated that it accepts some of Ripple's requests and may object to others. According to documents, Ripple attempts to edit information that could harm the company, innocent third parties, and Ripple employees if disclosed publicly; seeking a narrow revision for its audited financial statements and related documents.
