CME: The probability of the Federal Reserve cutting interest rates in February is low, but the cumulative probability of rate cuts in March has increased
CME "Fed Watch" data shows that the probability of the Federal Reserve maintaining interest rates in the range of 5.25%-5.50% in February is 97.9%, and the probability of a rate cut by 25 basis points is 2.1%. The likelihood of keeping interest rates unchanged in March stands at 52.9%, while there's a cumulative chance of a rate cut by 25 basis points at 46.2%, and a cumulative chance for a reduction by 50 basis points at just about 1%.
