Foresight News reports that Trust Wallet has launched a compensation process for victims of its Chrome browser extension security incident. Affected users are required to submit an application form through the official portal, including information such as wallet addresses and transaction hashes. Trust Wallet stated that users should beware of scams conducted via Telegram ads, fake "compensation" forms, impersonated customer service accounts, and private messages.

This incident was caused by malicious code embedded in the Trust Wallet v2.68 software, resulting in the theft of approximately 7 million USD in assets, covering bitcoin, ETH, SOL, and other assets. Trust Wallet CEO Eowyn Chen stated that a leaked Chrome Web Store API key allowed attackers to bypass internal publishing checks and release a malicious update. PeckShield monitoring shows that over 4 million USD of stolen funds have flowed to centralized exchanges such as ChangeNOW, FixedFloat, and a certain exchange.
