The ruling on Trump's dismissal of Cook is not expected before September 4.
Jinse Finance reported that the U.S. Federal Court in Washington may not issue a ruling before September 4 local time regarding the case of President Trump dismissing Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook. Previously, the judge had agreed to extend the deadline for the government to submit its briefs. U.S. District Judge Jacob has requested the Department of Justice to submit another brief by Thursday, concerning the opposition to Cook's request for immediate court action to prevent the Federal Reserve from executing the dismissal order. According to judicial procedures, the judge usually waits until all documents have been submitted before making a decision. Judge Jacob held a hearing on August 29. Cook's attorneys argued that if an agreement ensuring her continued service during the litigation cannot be reached with the government, the judge needs to issue a temporary ruling to maintain the status quo as soon as possible. The next Federal Reserve interest rate meeting will be held from September 16 to 17.
