OPINION: Currently a golden age for crypto hedge fund investing, asymmetric opportunities will persist
This is a golden age for crypto hedge fund investing, according to Chris Solarz, chief investment officer for digital assets at Amitis Capital. Solarz pointed out that the crypto market is still in its early stages, and fund managers are even able to use the same trading strategies that were used 35 years ago when traditional finance (TradFi) hedge funds first emerged. Solarz believes that until crypto is fully integrated into the financial system, asymmetric opportunities will continue to exist. Just as no one would claim to be an employee of an internet company today, there will come a time when crypto is no longer seen as a standalone field - perhaps when Bitcoin catches up with gold in terms of market capitalisation, which he predicts could happen within a decade.
