Arkham data shows that several governments hold large amounts of bitcoin, totaling about $17.8 billion at current market prices. The U.S. government holds the largest share of bitcoin, with its holdings worth an estimated $12 billion, while the U.K. government holds about $3.3 billion worth of bitcoin. The United States government holds the largest share of Bitcoin with an estimated value of $12 billion, while the UK government holds about $3.3 billion worth of Bitcoin. The country became the first to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender in 2021.
