WeFi CEO: The core narrative of the crypto industry is shifting towards financial infrastructure layers
Show original
On December 29, WeFi co-founder and CEO Maksym Sakharov stated that the core narrative of the crypto industry is shifting from price volatility and trading volume to corporate balance sheets and the financial infrastructure layer. He pointed out that in the past 12 to 18 months, compliant custody has matured, accounting and regulatory frameworks have become clearer, stablecoin regulations (such as the GENIUS Act and MiCA), the SEC's shift towards participatory regulation, and the Basel Committee's reassessment of banks' digital asset capital requirements have enabled enterprises to meet the conditions for compliant on-chain operations. Tokenized treasury bonds and money market funds have crossed the critical threshold, and institutions such as certain exchanges are advancing tokenized settlement. This year, stablecoins have surpassed $9 trillion in payment volume, with a market capitalization of approximately $309 billion, and regulation has shifted towards normalization.
