Polymarket to prioritize development of its L2 network following latest Polygon network outage | PANews
PANews, December 19 – According to Cryptopolitan, the Polymarket platform recently experienced some downtime due to issues with its underlying blockchain, Polygon, occurring during the same period. Although no official statement has been released, a Polymarket member posted on Discord regarding the outage, claiming that the platform will now focus on building its own Layer2 network to prevent similar interruptions in the future.
In fact, some community members have revealed that after multiple network issues, Polymarket has decided to make the development of its own L2 its current top priority. Team member Mustafa mentioned this in the official Discord channel to reassure users, but did not provide a specific plan or timeline. He described it as the "top" priority and claimed it would be achieved soon, so that the platform could reach the desired level of stability and independence.
Previously, as reported yesterday, the Polygon Foundation stated that a failure in Polygon PoS today affected some RPC nodes, but all functions of Polygon PoS have now been restored.
