COINOTAG, citing Coinglass data as of December 17, flags two pivotal Ethereum risk thresholds on leading mainstream CEXs. If Ethereum trades below $2,800, the long-liquidation exposure could total about $1.022 billion, underscoring dense downside liquidity near this level.

By contrast, a rise beyond $3,000 could unleash roughly $843 million in short-liquidation pressure across major exchanges, highlighting a different angle of leverage risk for market participants should momentum extend past this threshold.

COINOTAG’ note clarifies that the liquidation chart does not disclose exact contract counts or true liquidation values. The chart’s bars convey the relative importance of each cluster, indicating how fiercely price could move when a level is reached due to liquidity cascades.
