TaikoSwap Goes Live: Trade Natively on Taiko
Table of Contents
Just days after announcing its selection by ENS for the platform’s ‘Namechain’ and the Taiko ecosystem has delivered yet more exciting news.
On November 20, Taiko launched TaikoSwap, its native decentralized exchange, offering users a faster and more affordable way to trade on a platform that maintains Ethereum-level security.
What Is TaikoSwap?
TaikoSwap is a native DEX built specifically for the Taiko network. The platform allows users to trade cryptocurrencies directly on Taiko's infrastructure without relying on centralized intermediaries.
Taiko operates as a based rollup and Type 1 rollup, which means it's designed to align closely with Ethereum's technical architecture and core principles. This positioning gives TaikoSwap users an experience that mirrors Ethereum's security and decentralization while offering improved speed and lower transaction costs.
The exchange itself is now live at.
Available Trading Pairs
According to the official release, TaikoSwap has launched with three trading pairs:
- ETH/USDC - Trade Ethereum against USD Coin
- TAIKO/USDC - Exchange Taiko's native token with USDC
- TAIKO/ETH - Swap between TAIKO and ETH
These pairs provide the foundation for liquidity on the platform, covering the most essential trading routes for users entering the Taiko ecosystem. It seems likely, however, that the development team will expand this offering in the near future, giving traders a wider breadth of assets to swap.
TaikoSwap: Development Plans
The team behind TaikoSwap has built the exchange with a modular architecture, allowing for future expansion. According to the announcement, additional features and trading pairs will be added progressively as the platform matures.
Early adopters will thereby have the opportunity to participate in TaikoSwap's development from its initial phase, with the exchange designed to grow alongside the broader Taiko ecosystem.
DeFi on Taiko - Just the Beginning…
The launch of TaikoSwap addresses one of the fundamental needs in any blockchain ecosystem - a reliable venue for decentralized trading. DeFi applications have become a primary use case for blockchain technology, and native exchanges play a critical role in enabling financial activities without centralized control.
In short, decentralized exchanges (DEXs’) have become the cornerstone of any blockchain ecosystem, including major L1 like Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Solana.
By offering a native DEX, Taiko provides its users with direct access to decentralized finance tools while maintaining the security standards associated with Ethereum-based infrastructure. The exchange represents Taiko's commitment to building decentralized infrastructure that prioritizes both user experience and technical reliability, as well as a vision to allow Taiko to compete with household names in the L1/L2 space.
