Spotify has traditionally offered limited insight into users’ listening patterns. Previously, people needed to connect their account to platforms like Last.fm to monitor their music activity, or wait until Spotify’s annual Wrapped summary to see an overview of their listening history.
Now, the streaming leader is introducing a new tool called “Listening stats,” which provides users with weekly updates about their music habits.
Each week, the stats will highlight your most-played artists and songs, and you’ll be able to share these details with others through Instagram, WhatsApp, or directly with friends on Spotify using the app’s new messaging function. Spotify also mentioned that these weekly recaps will feature notable moments, such as reaching a milestone, discovering a new track, or having a special fan experience.

On the stats page, you’ll also find an option to generate a playlist inspired by your favorite tracks and suggestions for what you might enjoy next, all tailored to your listening trends.
To view your stats, simply tap your profile picture and choose the “Listening stats” section. There, you can review your recent listening activity and share your stats with others.
Listening stats are currently being made available to both free and premium users in more than 60 countries. Spotify confirmed that the popular annual Wrapped feature will continue, allowing users to share their top artists and other insights at the end of the year.
While the new listening stats offer a more frequent look at your music habits, they may take away some of the excitement of discovering unexpected details about your listening at year’s end.
