Apple CEO Tim Cook indicated to shareholders that the company remains receptive to acquisitions and collaborations to advance its AI initiatives.

He made these remarks during Apple’s Q4 2025 earnings call this week. Cook also briefly updated on the progress of Apple’s next-gen AI-driven Siri, confirming that the launch is still scheduled for 2026.

“We’re seeing strong development, and as we’ve mentioned, we anticipate its release next year,” Cook stated in his opening comments.

During the call, an analyst questioned whether Apple was still following a three-part strategy for its personalized AI, which involves developing its own foundation models, working with external LLM providers, and making acquisitions.

Cook replied that Apple remains open to acquisitions, emphasizing that the company is always monitoring the M&A landscape and is “willing to pursue M&A if it aligns with our strategic goals.”

In an interview with CNBC before the earnings call, Cook mentioned that Apple plans to reveal additional AI partnerships, similar to its collaboration with OpenAI to bring ChatGPT into Siri and Apple Intelligence.

“We aim to expand our integrations with more partners over time,” Cook told the publication.

On the call, Cook also discussed Apple’s process of developing foundation models, deploying them on devices, and utilizing them within Private Cloud Compute, the company’s secure cloud AI platform.

Later in the call, Cook revealed that Apple is already leveraging Private Cloud Compute for various Siri requests and is continuing to enhance that infrastructure.

“Actually, the facility producing the servers for Apple Intelligence began operations in Houston just a few weeks ago, and we have plans to scale up there for our data centers. And, as you can see, it’s quite robust,” he commented.

Cook also pointed out that AI is influencing how consumers choose their next smartphones.

“I believe Apple Intelligence is already a consideration, and we’re optimistic it will play an even bigger role,” he added.
